Quality Enhancement at EKU

Quality Enhancement at EKU

Initiated with the 2007 Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) re-accreditation process to develop a carefully designed and focused university-wide initiative to improve student learning, EKU embraced the theme: To graduate informed, critical and creative thinkers who can communicate effectively. This is represented with the E to the fourth power (E4) to indicate four basic tenants of thinking critically.

Students will:

EXPLORE and use relevant information in order to gain knowledge and solve problems.
EVALUATE information and ideas using appropriate methods.
EXPAND and generate their own ideas and express them effectively.
EXPRESS a point of view and develop it with awareness of alternatives.
